About
I'm Shameer, a backend and platform engineer in Bengaluru. Right now I'm a founding engineer building AI agent products.
Most of my work has been on backend services, distributed systems, and the internal platforms and tooling that engineering teams run on. I write mostly Go and Python, with some TypeScript and Rust.
The thread running through all of it is friction: the small frustrations that slow people down. A lot of what I do is figuring out how engineers and users can think and work better — better tools, better workflows, fewer things in the way. That's also what I tend to write about here:
- Platform engineering and developer productivity
- LLM agents — building real software around models, not demos
- Distributed systems — Raft, replication, and how things fail in production
- Tools for thought and note-taking
